Braised Beef Short Ribs

Last night I made one of our favorites, braised beef short ribs. It’s a long slow cook but once it’s cooking it’s pretty hands off. And the end result is a melt in your mouth meaty dish.

Braised Beef Short Ribs:

First salt and pepper and sear all sides to your short ribs in an oven safe pan

Then drain off excess fat

Then add

1 diced onion
1″ diced ginger
4-5 cloves diced garlic
A sprig of rosemary
A sprig of oregano
2 sprigs of thyme

Cook for a few minutes then add

1 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp red wine vinegar or 1/4 cup red wine if you have
Add beef stock just till ribs are covered

Bring to a boil and then cover and bake in oven at 300 for 3 hours

Remove bones and sinew and add 2 tbsp flour mix well over med heat for 5 minutes

Serve over rice or mashed potatoes with some fresh tomato
